Product Review: Noxzema The Original Deep Cleansing Cream

I have combination/oily skin and it is very sensitive and acne prone. Thus, I use a variety of cleansers and product to control my acne, the oil in my skin and make sure that I don’t over dry my skin or cause any allergic reaction to products. As you can tell, its a lot of work and I found that changing products you use during the day and at what time and how frequently really helps to create a balance. I am no expert here, so all I can tell you and give you advice on is how my skin reacted to products and how they helped me and my particular skin. For someone else the products I use may work completely differently. All I can say is that I did go to a beautician who carried out a Face Map, that helps me know which areas to target and what kind of products are correct for which area of my face.

But, enough of the rambling! The product I am going to introduce to you is called Noxzema The Original Deep Cleansing Cream. I have a couple of Deep Cleansing Creams that I make use of that have varying powers, by which I mean they do not work the same way and do not deep clean the same.

What they claim:
❤ Deep cleans without over drying
❤ Removes dirt, oil and makeup
❤ Leaves skin feeling soft, smooth and healthy-looking

The cream looks quite thick and firm in the tub,
once you get it in you hands it melts into a light cream.

The consistency of this product is really weird and when I first got it I was curious on how it would perform. You can apply this product on both a wet or dry face. I love applying mine on a dry face. I take a little bit of product, rub in my hands until it breaks down and then apply it all over the face except the eyes as I feel this is too powerful to apply on the eyes. I like to leave it on for a minute or so and then I rinse it off. The product has Eucalyptus Oil in it and you can smell it. I love this scent it relaxes me and my skin too. After you rinse it off you are left with clear skin, that feels free from any excess oils. If you touch it right after you rinse it, the skin feels really strange, the only way I can explain it is it is not soft. But after you pat your face dry, it goes back to normal.

This product has helped me with the reduction of blackheads and pimples and it really works to clear up my skin. I had heard this product being recommended by someone on YouTube and it immediately perked my interest into trying this out. I got mine from eBay for about €16, where I got three tubs of this product each containing 70g. I love using this before bed as part of my cleansing routine. As I said I use different cleansers in the morning and I sometimes change products during the week if I want a more intensive treatment or if my skin is extra sensitive I will use something less powerful. I believe the product has been repackaged now, but you can read up more on the Noxzema website, where they have various ranges of products. I also make use of the Clean & Clear Deep Action Cream Wash.

Product Review: Neutrogena On-the-Spot Acne Treatment

The Neutrogena On-the-Spot Acne Treatment is a blemish cream that you can apply to any acne or blemishes on your skin to reduce the acne and treat it. As I have acne prone skin I love having good products that help me to treat any acne that appears on my skin, and this is my favorite product for that. I have other products that I use to treat my acne, such as the Avon Blemish Treatment which I did a review HERE. However, if I have a very persistent pimple or some acne which I want to dry up quickly, this is what I will use. You can find more information about this product on the Neutrogena site HERE.

What they claim:

On-the-Spot® Acne Treatment is a spot acne treatment that provides maximum-strength results without drying out your face. It goes deep down in pores to kill the acne bacteria that cause pimples and helps stop new ones from forming.
Some medicated spot treatments contain high doses of Benzoyl Peroxide that can irritate skin, causing redness and dryness that can make acne worse. On-the-Spot® Acne Treatment contains just 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide, yet it provides the same maximum level of effectiveness with 70% less irritation.

Fight acne and get maximum-strength results with an acne spot treatment that won’t dry out your face.

  • Oil-free
  • Non-comedogenic (won’t clog pores)
  • 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide

What the product looks like
What I think:
I find this product really effective to treat my acne. It is a cream consistency which you apply to any acne on your skin and after a few minutes it dries to a nearly transparent layer on your skin. Do not apply to skin which is healthy as it will dry up the skin. However, this is really effective where you have the acne, as it dries up the pimple and you are left with clearer skin. I usually apply this during the night, before I go to bed, so that the product can work while I am asleep and when I wake up the pimple has reduced and I can cover it up with some concealer. This product contains 21g/0.75oz and retails for $6.99 on the Neutrogena website. I got mine from eBay and this is already my second bottle as it is a life saver for me 🙂

Product Review: Avon Blemish Treatment

I have acne prone skin, so I include a blemish treatment for my spots or any acne that appears on my skin, in my daily facial routine. I have tried several of these blemish treatments over time and the Avon Clear Skin Blemish Treatment is one of my favorites. This blemish treatment is in the form of a clear gel that dries to an invisible finish on the skin so it is very useful if you want to apply this and leave it on your face as it leaves no trace. This product contains 2% Salicylic Acid, which works to dry out the blemishes and the product comes in a tube with 15ml of product. This product can be found on their website HERE.

What they claim:
Clears up acne pimples & helps prevent new blemishes. Attacks acne on the spot. See results in 24 hours!

What I think:
This product is quite a mild treatment and if like me you have some bad acne on your skin, then this treatment is not enough. However, I find that if I’m having a good skin day but I still have some mild spots coming on, this treatment is quite helpful as it reduces the spots without drying out the skin around it which can happen with many other more aggressive blemish treatments. What I do, is apply a tiny amount on the spot and let it sit on my skin. I sometimes also use this product through the night, I apply it before going to bed and in the morning the blemish is visibly reduced.

I have bought this product with my own money from eBay, but I’don’t remember how much it cost exactly, but as with all products Avon, it is quite affordable. I also did a Neutrogena blemish treatment review HERE.
