REVIEW | OPI in Just a Little Rosti at This

OPI Just a Little Rosti at This

This week on my nails I have been wearing my first ever OPI nail polish which is in the shade Just a Little Rosti at This. Now since this has been my first time trying out this brand I thought I would let you know what I think about it.

The shade I got as you can see is very Autumn appropriate and I love a good dark red on my nails during this time of year. You get 15ml of product which is great when you consider the price tag. I paid €9.95 for this nail polish which is well over my usual budget for nail polish. Luckily the store I got it from was also having a 10% discount at the time.

The application of the polish is great. The product is not streaky, the shade pigmented and the brush is wide, just perfect for an easy and fast application. The bottle and the aesthetics of it are gorgeous as well. If you are anything like me, the packaging does make a difference. In this case, there is indeed something satisfying about having an OPI nail polish added to my collection.

As regards to the brand, OPI, I was truly blown away by the huge selection of shades they have. Even though I am quite sure the store did not carry all the line, there were over three shelving units filled with different shades I was a bit overwhelmed. You get shimmer, glitter, metallic, nude, bold, dark and any other nail polish formula you can imagine.

My advice, be prepared. Do your research online and know what you are looking for when you go to shop for OPI. The product is good and you won’t be disappointed.

REVIEW | PUPA Milano Lasting Color Gel in Delicate Crimson

Pupa Lasting Color Gel 018

This week on my nails I am wearing the Pupa Milano Lasting Color Gel in 018, Delicate Crimson. Although I have tried other makeup products from Pupa, this was my first time using one of their nail polishes and I was pleasantly surprised.
The application is smooth and you are able to get thin, even layers in one swipe. The colour itself is a gorgeous bright pink that has a sheeny finish even before applying the top coat. I only did two coats of this shade and the colour comes through even after just one coat.

This range from Pupa are called the Glass Effect Nail Polishes and the formula aims to give your nails a gel-effect finish that dries to a shiny, glass-like formula, that looks super glossy. The application brush is flat and wide for an easier application in just one swipe and drying time is fast and hassle free.

For the Pupa Nail Polishes you get only 5ml of product, but I must say that I do enjoy the packaging and the quality is definitely impressive.

What do you think about this gorgeous pink? What other shades do you recommend I try next?

Essence Colour & Go in Purple Sugar

This nail polish from Essence is new to my collection. A unique shade, unlike any other I have. It is the Essence Colour & Go Nail Polish in 174 Purple Sugar

In real-life it is a tad more purple whilst in the photo the pink comes through more than it actually is.

I applied two coats of this shade but even with one the colour was very opaque. The consistency is not too liquid or gloopy. It coats the nail with a fine coat and layers great.

When going for multiple coats, I suggests thinner is better. It lasts really well on the nails as with all the other Essence polishes I have tried and it is really affordable.

Do you own any other polish that is similar? What do you think about Purple Sugar?

POTW: Essence Nail Polish in Ultimate Pink

For this week’s Pink of the Week I am sharing with you this cute combination of pink and nude on my nails.

The pink is the Essence Colour & Go Nail Polish in 108 Ultimate Pink, the nude shade is the Essence Colour & Go Nail Polish in 162 Dare it Nude, and on the nude shade I applied a glitter topcoat which was a limited edition from Essence Glitter Topper from their Hugs & Kisses Collection in 01 More Than Words.

I am loving this combination of pink and nude on my nails. I also used the Sally Hansen’s Double Duty as my base coat and the Insta Dry as my top coat. The Essence polishes are dry really fast and the application is smooth and opaque. The glitter is also gorgeous and I love it on top of most shades.

What is your favourite combination on your nails?

POTW: NYX Nail Polish in Sandal

This week’s Pink of the Week is the NYX Advanced Salon Formula Nail Polish in 224 Sandal. It is a bright fuchsia colour that I think is perfect to celebrate the beginning of Spring and will look great all year round.

I love the NYX nail polishes and this one did not disappoint. It applied opaque and was not streaky. I applied two coats of it together with the Sally Hansen’s Base and Top Coats. On my ring finger I applied one thin coat of the Essence Glitter Top Coat in It’s Just a Little Crush.

A Month in Nails: February 2014

This is a new thing I’m trying so let me know if you enjoy these types of posts. This is a look at what I had on my nails for the past month. This allows me to have a look at which colours I’m gravitating most towards and which brands I am liking.

For February I wore four different brands; Essence, NYX, She and Sally Hansen. As you can tell in January I was going for pinky shades which turned into darker purpley shades as the month progressed.

I like the consistency of all four nail polishes and they all stay on for a solid week on my nails without chipping. Personally I love the She colour but the Essence one is really fun and bright. The Sally Hansen one is not as opaque as the others but I love how the plum colour shows through and I love the application. The NYX colour is the first burgundy I own and I am really pleased with the shade.

The colours are Essence Naughty and Pink, NYX Red Wine, She Dirty Lilac and Sally Hansen Plum Luck.

Which shade would you go for? Have you tried any of these shades?

On my Nails: She Dirty Lilac Nail Polish

Last week I was wearing the She Nail Polish in 311 Dirty Lilac colour. I cannot find any name for this shade and they don’t seem to have any names for them which is a shame.

I always tend to gravitate towards these shades and so I have a couple of shades very similar to this one, from NYX and Catrice. However this one has a little more lilac showing through.

The colour applies smoothly and evenly and it lasted on my nails a whole week with no chipping, of course using my trusty Sally Hansen’s Base and Top Coats.

When I don’t know which colour to wear on my nails this is my go to colour. What is yours?

Have you tried the She brand? Do you like dirty lilac colours?
