Pink of the Week: Catrice Welcome to RosyWood

This week on my nails I am wearing Catrice #780 Welcome to RosyWood which is a mauve pink colour that looks really polished and clean on the nails.

I applied my trusty Sally Hansen’s Base Coat, two coats of the Catrice polish and another Sally Hansen Top Coat. The colour is opaque and usually stays on for a good week. With the price being around €4 and 10ml of product you cannot really go wrong.

This particular shade is a little thicker than some others I’ve tried but still does not apply streaky.

Going Nude On My Nails This Week

This week I’ve decided to go nude, just on my nails, no worries 🙂

I have chosen the Catrice 04 Apropos Coco which is from their Ultimate Nudes Collection as my nude colour. It does not give a full opaque coverage, but with two coats of this on the nails it gives adequate coverage for a French-Look.

This is the line-up of what I have used on my nails; starting off with a coat of the Essence Studio Nails 24/7 Nail Base, then two coats of the Apropos Coco Nail Polish, finishing off with the Essence Quick Dry Top Coat. I also like to use the Essence Nail Art Express Dry Drops to help the polish dry faster.

I got all of these items from the Health Plus on Campus Store at University, which I go into all the time and get sucked into trying products from their beauty stands. The Essence Products were all around 1 euro and the Catrice about 3 euros, which I think is really affordable!

Check out Essence and Catrice for great products, they have amazing quality at a great price!

NOTD: Sephora Welcome to my loft

I have recently received this nail polish from a very good friend of mine who went to Paris on holiday. Now since we don’t have Sephora where I live, getting something from the infamous place is a big deal!

This is also my first Sephora nail polish so I was curious to see how it held up, if it chipped easily and how long it takes to dry.

I must say that I was pleasantly surprised with the colour and application. It is very easy to use and dries fairly quickly.

It is a brownish colour called “Welcome to my loft” with subtle golden shimmers in it. You can find it here.

Next vacation I’ll be sure to pick up a couple more shades to try out!

NOTD: Sparkly Blue & New Year Resolutions

What better way to start off the New Year than with a NOTD featuring Essence products. I start off by using the Sally Hansen Power Shield as my base, then applied two layers of Essence Stairway to Heaven, next I applied Essence Addicted to Blue on my ring finger and I finished off by using Essence Quick Dry Topcoat on all my nails.

Sorry for the poor paint job but I had just cut my nails and they are super short, which I like a lot actually. Also excuse my dry hands but the weather has been super cold and I have ended trying a number of hand creams which I might do a review on.

I also wanted to share with you some goals I want to set for myself for the year 2012:

1. Be more Confident
2. Blog more
3. Lose weight

I really hope to achieve these goals this year and I am sure that if I set my mind to them I can do them all! Hope to also keep you  updated on the blog on how I am doing. It might be a good idea to keep an on-line journal of my achievements.

Do you like Essence nail polishes? I am loving the brand at the moment, if you want me to review anything let me know!

NOTD: Elf Nail Polish in Desert Haze

I am finally going to do a NOTD, this has been a long time coming! A few weeks ago I got my hands on the Elf Nail Polish in Desert Haze which is a nude color. I don’t have many nail color shades that are nude and since nude is so popular at the moment I decided to give it a go!

Photo taken in Natural Lighting.
I find the color looks a little washed out and it is a little more darker in person.
Still very natural color and easy to wear.
Here I have two coats of
Elf Desert Haze and an Essence High Shine Top Coat.
My nails are still getting over my
study nervous attacks so pardon
my less than perfect looking nails and cuticles.
Do you have any recommendations?

I got my bottle from the Elf website for €1.70.
You get
10 ml of product.
The color is a
greyish nude color I would say,
more of a
cool nude rather than it being warm.
I love this shade and I think once I get a little more tan
it will look even better. Very wearable shade.
Be careful though cause the polish itself can get
a
little streaky if you don’t two good coats.
The color lasted for
5 days without chipping which is good in my book!
