Product Review: Sinful Colors Blush in Rosey Sand

This blush has been with me for over a year now and it is from one of my last hauls I did from Cherry Culture. I do love the site for the variety of products they offer, but if I go to eBay I am sure to find most products for much cheaper, so I don’t bother with it any more. This is the only blush I own from Sinful Colors and although it has been much used, I can’t say that I would want to get more from this brand. Now, I love the Sinful Colors nail polishes, so I am not saying that the brand is bad! However, this blush turned out to be a disappointment for me. The color is way too light for my skin, but even more the product is quite powdery and you have to really work at it to get the product to show up.
I like to use it over darker blushes to lighten them a little, if I over apply
The color would be really gorgeous if the shade transferred well to the skin. Its a coral-pink shade with nice shimmers in it but not too much.

You get 5g/0.18oz of product and the shade is 7516 Rosey Sand
A swatch of the product, had to apply over and over again to get this payoff

A blusher which I love using is the Elf Natural Radiance Blusher.

Have you tried any of the Sinful Colors blushes? Do you like them?

Product Review: Palmer’s Fade Cream

I have a problem with hyper pigmentation in my skin, that means that acne blemishes take a long time to fade and every mark I make on my face stays dark for quite some time. I have been looking for some way to lighten my scars and help to even my tone for a long time and not long ago I came across this product which is aimed to reduce the appearance of age spots, sun damage and unwanted discoloration. It is the Palmer’s Skin Success Even Tone Fade Cream, and I decided to give it a try.

I have also started using some lightening face masks and tried to increase my Vitamin C intake as this is supposed to help reduce hyper pigmentation in the skin. More over this product contains Vitamins C and E, Alpha Hydroxy and Sunscreen as ingredients.

I apply this before going to bed, however this can be applied under makeup too

What I think:
This product is meant to reduce dark spots, now this process takes a while to work. The leaflet suggest you apply the product every day and expect results in a month’s time. It also says that this product will make your skin more sensitive to sunlight and thus you have to be more careful and use sun protection which is not a problem for me since I use products with SPF and also a sunscreen daily. I have been trying this product out for a little over a month now, since I wanted to give my honest opinion on this product. I did notice some lightening of the skin with this product. Nothing too dramatic but that is to be expected. However, I noticed that when a blemish is formed and I apply this product to it, the skin lightens in as little as two days which is a great improvement for me. It does not totally remove the blemish but makes it so much easier to be able to hide it with a little concealer.

I do recommend this product, as it does have a very reasonable price especially compared to many others on the market. I got mine from eBay but was very confident in this product as I love the Palmer’s brand and have used hand creams, body creams and even hair masks. In addition they are also a cruelty free brand which I firmly endorse. You can check more information on the brand and this product on the Palmer’s website.

Do you use any lightening creams? What would you recommend?

Product Review: Avon Ageless Results

About two months ago, I have bought the Avon Solution Ageless Results Overnight Renewing Cream. I usually have combination/oily skin but since the coming of colder weather, my skin has been drier than usual and I had no face moisturizer to deeply hydrate the skin. My day face moisturizer is all about controlling the oil in my skin, but during the night I wanted to hydrate the skin and help it look as healthy and bright as possible, so I decided to give this a go.

A glass jar with 50ml of product
What they claim:
Smooths the look of visible lines and wrinkles. Reveals improved skin texture. Visibly minimizes pores. Protects against future age damage.

Protective plastic cover
My Conclusions:
This product comes in a nice glass jar, with a protective plastic cover with the Avon logo on top. It is a quite a thin cream although it is a night cream and I was expecting some thicker consistency to it. I helped balance out my skin well as I usually apply it during the night and wake up to skin that feels nice and elastic! However, I don’t really care for the smell of this product. It does not have some heavy fragrance to it, but it has that smell that I usually associate with face creams your mother used. I don’t know how to better explain it, I like my products to be fragrance free preferably as I am quite sensitive to scents. Said this, the smell is not so overwhelming that you can’t get over it. It is not pleasant to me but after some time using it I got used to it.

As to minimizing my pores, I have seen no results in that area, but it worked for the purpose I needed it just fine. I don’t know if I would repurchase this product specifically. I will definitely repurchase a night cream when this ends but not sure yet what to try. I got this product from eBay for an affordable price, but you can find all about it on the Avon website where it retails for $15.00 for 50ml/1.7fl.oz.

Do you use a moisturizer during the night? What do you recommend?

Product Review: Neutrogena On-the-Spot Acne Treatment

The Neutrogena On-the-Spot Acne Treatment is a blemish cream that you can apply to any acne or blemishes on your skin to reduce the acne and treat it. As I have acne prone skin I love having good products that help me to treat any acne that appears on my skin, and this is my favorite product for that. I have other products that I use to treat my acne, such as the Avon Blemish Treatment which I did a review HERE. However, if I have a very persistent pimple or some acne which I want to dry up quickly, this is what I will use. You can find more information about this product on the Neutrogena site HERE.

Directions on the tube

What they claim:

On-the-Spot® Acne Treatment is a spot acne treatment that provides maximum-strength results without drying out your face. It goes deep down in pores to kill the acne bacteria that cause pimples and helps stop new ones from forming.
Some medicated spot treatments contain high doses of Benzoyl Peroxide that can irritate skin, causing redness and dryness that can make acne worse. On-the-Spot® Acne Treatment contains just 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide, yet it provides the same maximum level of effectiveness with 70% less irritation.

Fight acne and get maximum-strength results with an acne spot treatment that won’t dry out your face.

  • Oil-free
  • Non-comedogenic (won’t clog pores)
  • 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide

What the product looks like
What I think:
I find this product really effective to treat my acne. It is a cream consistency which you apply to any acne on your skin and after a few minutes it dries to a nearly transparent layer on your skin. Do not apply to skin which is healthy as it will dry up the skin. However, this is really effective where you have the acne, as it dries up the pimple and you are left with clearer skin. I usually apply this during the night, before I go to bed, so that the product can work while I am asleep and when I wake up the pimple has reduced and I can cover it up with some concealer. This product contains 21g/0.75oz and retails for $6.99 on the Neutrogena website. I got mine from eBay and this is already my second bottle as it is a life saver for me 🙂

First Impressions: W7 The Cheek of it: In the Pink Blushers

w7, in the pink, the cheek of it, blusher, pink, pink sands

The W7 The Cheek of it: In the Pink Blushers in Pink Sands is a fun bright pink blush. This is a matte blush with no sparkles at all which is a good thing since the color is already so bright! I have already featured this blush in a haul I did recently, which you can view HERE. This is just a short post where you can view the product and see some swatches. The product is imprinted with the “in the Pink” words and I love when products have that imprints on them. 🙂

This is my first bright pink blush, so I am still a little hesitant to use it, but with the right hand, the right brush and the right amount you get a really gorgeous blush color with this product! There are other shades of pink from this brand that I would love to try too and the color payoff is so good that I am looking forward to try more!

Product Review: Avon Illuminating Eye Cream

A few weeks ago, I got myself this Avon Solutions Plus Total Radiance Illuminating Eye Cream (Phew! That is a mouthful :P). I am still searching for my perfect eye cream and I decided to give it a go. I have sensitive eyes, very dark circles round my eyes and they are puffy too so I need something to illuminate my eyes whilst reducing the puffiness and the dark circles without irritating my eyes.  I got this product from eBay for about €4.00.

What they claim:
For normal/combination skin. This soothing gel refreshes and revives the eye area. Minimizes the appearance of undereye bags and helps brighten dark circles. Hypoallergenic. Dermatologist-tested. Fragrance-free.

What I think:
This product has a peachy color to it which does not transfer to the lid at all. It has tiny particles in it which can better see in real life that I think are for brightening the eye area. I like the effect this product has on the lid but I’m not sure this is my favorite eye cream yet, still looking. This product retails for $12.00 on the Avon website (I got it for a good bargain), and it contains 15ml/0.5fl oz. It has a light scent to it but it is not overwhelming and not irritating at all. I use it day and night and apply it gently all over the lid and then pat it under the eye to reduce the puffiness. It applies really easily and absorbs instantly into the skin. It works well as a base under makeup and does not get greasy and I can tell since I have oily lids.

First Impressions: Revlon Vital Radiance Moisture Boosting Lip Color in Tea Rose

The Revlon Vital Radiance Moisture Boosting Lip Color in  026 Tea Rose is a Berry colored lip stick with Bluish sparkles in it and some coral undertones. I have already featured this lipstick in a haul I did recently, which you can view HERE. But I decided to give it more space and give a closer look at this product as it is really a gorgeous shade.

Can you see the bluish sparkles in the product?

A swatch of Tea Rose
I love the Revlon Color Burst lipsticks but this product is really great too. It is not sheer and gives really good color payoff. After just one swipe of the product you get a nice layer of color on the lips and it has a really nice moisturizing consistency to it.
